David Abernathy Johnson

David Abernathy Johnson, age 70, of Walser Road, Lexington passed away Friday afternoon, July 20, 2012 at Lexington Health Care.  Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Pilgrim Reformed Church where he was a member with Rev. Jamie Kent officiating.  Burial will follow in Pilgrim Reformed Church Cemetery.   The family will receive friends in the church parlor Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 pm prior to the service.   David was born in Buncombe County, NC January 19, 1942 to Winston Abernathy Johnson and Barbara Jenkins Johnson. He was a graduate of Lexington Senior High School; retired carpenter and former employee of Food Lion. He was preceded in death by his mother.   Surviving are his wife; Betty Sink Johnson of the home; father Winston A.
