David Washington Kestler

David Kestler, age 97 of Arrowhead Point, Lexington passed away Friday morning at Brookstone Retirement Center Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday April 25, 2016 in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 2:00 pm prior to the service. David was born January 9, 1919 in Iredell County to David Franklin and Ila Mae Shoemaker Kestler. He was a retired auditor with the Internal Revenue Service with 30 years of service; a member of First Lutheran Church and was a former member of the Optimist Club of Lexington. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Eileen Marshall Kestler who died April 10, 1988; his sister, Martha and brothers, James, Otis, Roy and William Kestler. Surviving are his wife, Mary Leach Kestler of the home; son, Marshall David Kestler and wife Rozane of Lexington; two grandchildren, Rodney Kestler of Atlanta, Ga and Marcus Kestler of Raleigh, NC.
