David Harold Kinney Jr.

David Harold Kinney, Jr., age 70, of Lexington, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Hospice of the Triad in High Point. Born on June 3, 1953, in Davidson County, NC, he was the beloved son of David Harold Kinney, Sr., and Sylvia Smith Kinney.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

David's professional journey led him to a fulfilling career as Assistant Manager for Vanderbilt Mortgage. He also found solace and community at Life Point Church, where he attended services. Among his passions, David took great pleasure in playing golf.

Preceded in death by his parents, David leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his loving wife Shari Gobble Kinney of the home, daughters, Kerri Elizabeth Lutz (Dexter) of Lexington and Lisa Williams of Grayslake, IL. He was a doting grandfather to Annabelle Grace Williams and Luna Marie Lutz.

In addition to his immediate family, David held dear friendships that enriched his life. Close companions Danny and Carol Leonard, as well as Sheila Lankford, brought him joy and camaraderie. He also shared a special bond with his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Bebe Briggs.

In honor of David's memory, contributions can be made to Hospice of the Triad, located at 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262, or to LifePoint Church on East 9th Street Ext., Lexington, NC 27292. Instead of flowers, these donations will help support causes that were close to David's heart.

David's family has entrusted Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with the honor of serving their needs during this time of remembrance and reflection. While formal services will not be held, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
