David Lee Wood

David Lee Wood, loving husband, father and grandfather, 59 of Warf Rd., Lexington died Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice follow a period of declining health. The funeral will be 11:00 am Thursday at Stoner’s Grove Baptist Church where he was a member with Rev. Billy Pearson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, and other times at the home. Mr. Wood was born October 26, 1956, in Surry County to Howard Elbert Wood and Lillie Paulette Philips Wood Boyett. He was retired having served 25 years of service with Walt’s Radiator Shop. His father preceded him death also two brothers: Willie Wood and Ricky Wood. Surviving in addition to his mother of West Field, NC is his wife, Kathey Kennedy Wood of the home; son, Joshua Shane Wood of Lexington; daughter, Jessica Wood Patterson and husband Zachary of Greensboro; grandson, Zachary Patterson; brothers, Adrian Wood and Christopher Mark Wood both of West Field, NC, sisters; Vickie Ashe of Lexington and Rebecca Gerlach of Winston Salem
