David Charles Leiner, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the age of 82, in Lexington, NC.
David was born on March 19, 1943, in Owosso, Michigan, to Frederick Carl Leiner and Erma Leona Leiner, both of whom predeceased him. He is now reunited with his parents, his son Jeffrey Kevin Leiner, his brother Charles Leiner, and his sister Helen Button, all of whom have also preceded him in death.
During his career as a pipefitter, David was a valued employee at General Motors for 41 years. His dedication and work ethic left an indelible mark on his colleagues and the industry.
Beyond his professional life, David was a devoted family man who absolutely cherished his wife, Patricia Leiner, and their loving family, including his sons, David Charles Leiner Jr. (Kelly) and Robert Alan Leiner (Suzette). David was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren and great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren. His family was the center of his world, and he never missed an opportunity to express his love and pride in them.
David was known for his love of the great outdoors, especially enjoying a good game of golf with friends and family. Road trips were a cherished pastime, as he delighted in exploring new places and creating lasting memories with his loved ones. Our memories are filled with laughter and joy from those adventures. David also had a special place in his heart for animals, whose companionship brought him immense joy throughout his life.
David will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but the love he shared and the legacy he leaves behind will forever be treasured in the hearts of his family and friends.
