David was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Martha Frances Lookabill; his parents, Grover Lindsey Lookabill and Carrie Bell Lookabill, and his siblings
Alfred Lookabill, Charles Dale Lookabill, Jeff Lookabill, Jimmy Dean Lookabill, Marie Curry, Daphene Pope, Maxie Lemly, Mable McGee, Ruth Sink, and Elsie Swicigood.
He can now join in full circle alongside his ten brothers and sisters in eternal rest.
He is survived by his son, Reggie Lookabill (Patty); his two grandchildren, Brittany Skeen (Jeffrey) and Andrew Berrier; and his four great-grandchildren,
Tyler Berrier, Noah James, Jonah Skeen, and Jakob Skeen along with a host of Lookabill nieces and nephews, spouses and their families who will carry forward his spirit and family values.
David's life was enriched by his dedication to the Davidson County Rescue Squad where he was able to assist with rescue operations throughout Davison County.
He retired after 30+ years of enduring volunteer service to the rescue squad in caring for the residents in the communities of which he loved, worked & resided.
Some of the most enjoyable times of David's life were spent on the golf course. David had an insatiable desire to play a game of Golf any time the opportunity allowed, unless it
interfered with a sports activity, Fair time or Hereford Cattle shows. Then, he would be sitting in the stands at ball games cheering on his great grandsons, playing football or baseball.
When the games were over, he would always stop by the barn. David's other passion he came to know and love was the family Hereford Cattle business, Lookabill Family Livestock, owned and operated
by his son and daughter-in-law. He was an advocate for farm living and the family's Hereford Cattle. But most importantly, he was willing to help his grandson , Tyler, on the farm where he was affectionately
known as "Mr. Greenjeans" or the "Farm Manager". And then, after a busy day, when it finally became David's time to relax, it was at dusk, where David was at peace watering his beloved vegetable garden.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Beulah United Church of Christ with Rev. Sandy YOung officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in the church Fellowship Hall.
David's memory will forever be a source of inspiration and strength to his family and friends. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to offer their sincere hand of gratitude to everyone for the kindness shown to them during these difficult days.
