David Rumfelt

Mr. David Russell Rumfelt, Jr. age 83 of Arvil Hunt Road, Lexington, NC died Saturday, January 11 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, January 15 at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum conducted by Rev. Henry Watterson. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum where the family will see friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Rumsfelt was born October 4, 1930 in McDowell County to David Russell Rumfelt, Sr. and Annie Rhom Rumfelt. He was a retired employee of PPG Industries and was of Methodist faith. He was a veteran of the U S Navy. He was married to Barbara Shoaf Rumfelt who died May 1, 2000. He is survived by sons David “Rusty” Rumfelt, and Roy Rumfelt and wife Velvet all of Lexington; brothers Cecil Rumfelt, Terry Rumfelt and Verl Rumfelt all of Lexington; grandchildren, David Rumfelt,4th and wife La’la, Health Rumfelt and wife Wendy, Emilee Rumfelt and fiancé Sollie Young and Mindy Rumfelt and friend Zane Fitzgerald; great grandchildren Amelia Rumfelt and Grayson Young.
