David "Sam" Samuel Leonard, Jr.

David “Sam” Samuel Leonard, Jr., 68, of Lexington passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 16, 2022, in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lomax Skinner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Mr. Leonard was born in Davidson County on August 27, 1953, to David Samuel Leonard, Sr. and Betty Jean Cody Leonard. He was a Paint Mixer and Delivery Driver for Rouzer Motor Parts and was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather whose memory will be cherished forevermore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Jean Rummage.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jo Ann McCombs Leonard; his son, David Scott Leonard (Christy); his daughter, Tina Leonard Overby (Ronnie II); a brother, Dwight “Johnny” Leonard (Betina); and his four grandchildren, Brandon Lukus Overby, Anna Marie Overby, Nolan Weston Leonard, and Miles Maddox Overby.
