Worth David Thomas, 71 of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm prior to the service in the church parlor.
A funeral service will be held 4:00 pm Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ, conducted by Rev. Darrell Sluder and burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Thomas was born April 22, 1950 in Guilford County to Worth Junior Thomas and Herleen Hendrick Thomas Beeson. He graduated from Ledford High School and later graduated from Western Carolina where he played soccer for four years. David retired from Davidson County Schools as a teacher and drivers education instructor. David was a member of Mt. Tabor UCC. He loved playing golf with his golfing buddies, but his real joy were his grandchildren. He made it a point to attend all their games where he would cheer them on. David was preceded in death by his mother and father, his step mother Ruth B. Thomas, and brother Ronnie Thomas.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 46 years, Renee Crotts Thomas of the home; a daughter, Amy Osborne and her husband Kevin, two sons, Jason Thomas and Rodney Thomas and his wife Lindsay Veach all of Lexington, 4 grandchildren, Parker Thomas, Emma Grace Osborne, Grayson Osborne, and Kirian Veach, and a brother Curtis Lane Beeson.
