David Franklin Thomason Sr.

David Franklin Thomason Sr, 76, of Hill Everhart Road passed away Friday September 25, 2020 at his  home.

A graveside service with Masonic Rites will be held 12:30 pm Monday at Pilgrim Lutheran Church Cemetery by Vicar Ashton Roberts.  Mr. Thomason will lie in state from 10 am to 12 pm Monday at the church prior to the service.  Due to the Pandemic, face coverings and social distancing will be required.

He was born August 27, 1944 in Davidson County to Will Gaither Thomason and Zula Ruth Everhart Thomason.  He retired from Proctor-Schwartz and was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church.  He was also a member of the Lexington Memorial Lodge #473, Oasis Shriners and Scottish Rite.  His brothers, Willie Thomason and Charlie Thomason, and his sisters, Ida Younts and Lula Mae Decker, preceded him in death.

Surviving to cherish David’s memories are his wife, Shirley Faye Brown Thomason of the home; his sons, Davy Thomason, Jr. (Melissa), Mike Thomason (Sherlyn), and Mark Thomason (Tammy), all of Lexington; his sisters, Mable Thomason and Reba Berrier , both of Lexington; his grandchildren, Ginger, Casey (Daniel), Kayla, Kimberly, Hannah, and Trinity, all of Lexington; and his great grandchildren, Kayleigh, Dawson, and Camdyn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to ALS Association, 4 N. Blount St, Suite 200, Raleigh NC 27601 or Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston Salem NC 27103.
