Daynese Mccarn

Daynese Hedrick McCarn, 95, a resident of Lexington, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2022 in Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. Daynese was born in Davidson County on August 23, 1926 to the late Robert Grady Hedrick, Sr. and Virgie Burkhart Hedrick. She retired from Dacotah Cotton Mills after 27 years of service. Daynese graduated from Jones Business School in High Point. She was a social butterfly who loved her family immensely. Daynese enjoyed traveling, especially going to the beach. She was a member of Memorial Evangelical & Reformed Church in Lexington where she sang in the choir and was a part of the Women’s Guild. Daynese was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Roland McCarn, who passed September 11, 1991; a brother, Robert Hedrick, Jr.; sisters, Tula Bame Hedrick Hill and Janice Lorene Hedrick; great-grandson, Noah Garner; great-granddaughter, Lainey McCarn; a brother-in-law, Odis “Bunny” Hill; and a sister-in-law, Darlene Peacock Hedrick.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00PM Monday, May 16, 2022 in Memorial Evangelical & Reformed Church. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the church, 3806 E Old US Highway 64, Lexington, NC 27292 and/or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.

Daynese is survived by a son, R. Kent McCarn (Jeanne) of Lexington; daughters, Cheryl M. Smith (Keith) and Jackie M. Garner (Eddie) all of Lexington; grandchildren, Travis McCarn (Tanya), Josh McCarn (Whitney), Jill Shoaf (Brad), Jason Smith, Matthew Smith, Heather Hall (Jason), Chad Garner (Becky), and Valerie Leonard (Matt); great-grandchildren, Logan, Evan, Brock, and Raegan McCarn, Connor and Carlee Shoaf, Vada Smith, Pria and Miller Hall, Lyric Garner, and Elin and Emmett Leonard.
