Dean Claude Asbury

July 22, 1965 — July 26, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dean Asbury, 60, of Lexington, North Carolina. Dean passed away at his home on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

Born on July 22, 1965, in Elkton, Maryland, Dean was the son of Claude Estel Asbury and the late Mary Gertrude Mull Asbury. He is preceded in death by his beloved mother and a precious grandchild, Emily Workman.

Dean is survived by his devoted wife, Suzanne Mae Jolly Asbury; his father, Claude Asbury (Sonia Owens); his children, Jesse Asbury (Lindsey) and Laura Workman (Travis); his brother, Claude Asbury Jr.; his sister, Claudia Asbury Greenwood (Brian); one adored grandchild, Ann Workman,  his adored nieces and nephews Robin Smith (Carl), Shane Asbury, Pauline Barley, Kara Knowles, Deja Greenwood, Brody Greenwood (Callie) and great nieces and nephews Summer Tate, Michael Nance, Lena and Douglas Barley, Luke Greenwood, and his mother in law Jewel Jolly. Last but not least, his beloved partner in crime Carmella.

Dean will be fondly remembered for his dependable nature, deep love for his family, and his bold, infectious sense of humor. He had a true passion for working on cars and fixing things. He found joy in turning wrenches, fixing engines, tinkering on various projects, and spending time in the garage—where he was the happiest. He never knew a stranger and had a lot of close friends that he considered as extended family.

A celebration of Dean’s life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 7:00 PM at Mitchell's Grove Methodist Church, 3511 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, High Point, NC 27260. The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Mitchell’s Grove Methodist Church.

Davidson Funeral Home Hickory Tree Chapel is honored to serve the Asbury family during this time.
