Dean Ferguson Jr., 61, of Snider-Kines Road, Linwood, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at his home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, by the Revs. Roy Ferguson and Melburn Trent. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Ferguson was born July 11, 1944, in Hawkins County, Tenn., to James Lee Ferguson and Ollie Carver Ferguson. He was a self-employed carpenter and was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna Marie Ferguson; three brothers, Clifford Ferguson, James Ferguson Jr. and Leonard Ferguson; and a sister, Ruby Mae Carberry. Surviving are his wife, Carol Miles Ferguson of the home; three sons, Timothy Ferguson and his wife, Kim, of Lexington, Michael Ferguson and his wife, Mary, of Linwood and Terry "Brother" Jarrett and his wife, Terri, of Southmont; one daughter, Terry Lynn Asbury of Thomasville; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Billy Gene Ferguson of Surgoinsville, Tenn., Samuel Earl Ferguson of Kingsport, Tenn., Roy A. Ferguson of Fall Branch, Tenn., and Kenneth Wayne Ferguson of Reidsville; four sisters, Sue Snider of Denton, Glendola Charlton of Fall Branch, Tenn., and Leota Laws and Margie Robinson, both of Kingsport, Tenn.; his beloved pet dogs, Hooch and Turner; and a special cousin, Roy "Herbert" Heaton. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and other times at the home.
