Dean Michael

Bobby Dean Michael, age 87 of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Brookstone Retirement in Lexington.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Dean was born on September 27, 1933 in Davidson County to Cleveland McCall Michael and Elsie Soloma Swicegood Michael.  He served in the United States Army and attended Freedom Baptist Church.  Dean was owner and operator of Dean Michael Grading.  He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Bradley Scott Michael, a granddaughter, Christie Michael and sister, Joan Foltz. Dean enjoyed doing many things including farming, brick masonry and also being a fireman for many years at the West Center Street Fire Department.  He loved to “tinker” with different objects and enjoyed watching the cars go by.  Dean will be missed by all who knew him.

Left to cherish his memory are his longtime companion, Gladys Moretz; son, Robert Michael of Lexington; brother, Perry Michael of Lexington, sister, Barbara Holman (Roger) of Sumter, SC; a grandchild, Christina Carter (Tyler), great-grandchild, Zoey and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
