Vivian "Dean" Farabee Rummage, a beloved mother, grandmother, and dedicated homemaker, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at her home.

A funeral service in Dean's honor will be held at 2 pm on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The Reverend Randy Foster will officiate the service, and burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Tyro. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

She was born in Davidson County on April 4, 1939, to her proud parents, Foy Marston Farabee and Nellie Koonts Farabee. Dean's life was marked by her unwavering love and devotion to her family, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Dean was a cherished member of the Tyro Methodist Church, where her faith guided her throughout her life. She found solace and strength in her faith, which she shared with her loved ones through her kindness, compassion, and unwavering support. In addition to her parents, Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "Olin" Rummage, and her brother, Johnny Farabee. She leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, which will be carried on by her adoring family.

Dean is survived by her loving daughters, Kathy Gobble (Larry), Layne Phifer (Conley), Lisa Moorefield, and Jan Rummage. Her nine cherished grandchildren, Jason Owens (Misty), Jennifer Royall (Michael), Ashley Walser (Jon), Kristen Moorefield, Chris Childs, Lauren Ivey (Chris), Elias Gobble (Lauren), Lael Gobble (Maddy), and Larra Gobble, were a source of immense pride and joy for her. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Erin, Arizona, Bentley, Bradley, Zackery, Natalee, Jake, Danica, Olivia, Harper, Chason, Elsie, Easton, Skylar and two more on the way. Dean's nurturing spirit will live on in the hearts of her descendants for generations to come. Dean had a special bond with her precious furbaby, Molly, who provided her with comfort and companionship. Molly was a constant source of joy and comfort in Dean's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be directed to Tyro Methodist Church or to Trellis Supportive Care, as a testament to Dean's compassionate and giving nature.

Vivian "Dean" Farabee Rummage touched the lives of many with her warm heart, unwavering love, and dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones who went before her.
