Deborah Alice Linkous Gaither, 59, of “Michigan at heart” and most recently of Davidson County, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025. She was born on October 10, 1966, to Leonard Theodore Linkous and Beulah Faye Sovine Linkous.
Deborah was known for her honesty, her grounded and realistic spirit, and her love of home. Whether tending to her flower garden, enjoying the simplicity and serenity of camping, or spending time with those she loved most, she found joy in the little things of life. She especially cherished her grandchildren, who brought her endless pride and happiness. Deborah had a natural warmth that made others feel welcomed and at ease. Still, she was often the life of the party, bringing humor, energy, and authenticity wherever she went.
She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Beulah Faye Sovine Linkous.
Left to honor her memory are her father, Leonard Theodore Linkous; her devoted husband, Tony Gaither; her son, Tony “TJ” Gaither Jr., and his wife, Lauren; her daughter, Lura Covington; and her siblings: Ted, David, Lannie, Tim, Vickie, and Barbara. She is also remembered by her grandchildren: O’Sirus, Ronin, Cariss, Cainan, Slayde, Caine, Caydee, Chandler, and Brielie, as well as numerous friends whose lives she touched simply by being herself.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home in Winston-Salem. A funeral service to celebrate Deborah’s life will follow on Friday, November 14, at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Davidson County Humane Society, 1120 Piedmont Dr., Lexington, NC 27295, in recognition of Deborah’s compassion and love for animals.
Deborah’s presence will be deeply missed, and her memory carried forward by all who were blessed to know and love her.
