Debra “Debbie” Ann Dix Trexler, of Lexington, passed away January 25, 2024, at her home in Lexington.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor James Welborn officiating. The family will welcome friends one hour before the service at the funeral home, and other times at the home on Wafford Rd., Lexington.
Debbie was born July 25, 1955, in Davidson County to Claude Herman Dix and Dorcas Everhart Dix. She was a Beck’s Reformed Church member and retired from Food Lion after thirty-three years of service. Her passions were her faith, family, and a special love for animals including her baby birds and her special furbabies (Rusty, Harley, Brandy, and Jazz). Debbie was a hard-working person who loved her job and being around people. In her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt whom we will all miss.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, Steven Wayne Trexler of the home, son, Phillip Sink (Nick) of Milwaukee, WI, daughter, Monica Smith (Mike) of Lexington, brothers, Sonny Dix (Debbie) of the Philippines, Tim Dix (Mary) of Cary, NC, sisters, Libby Owens, and Joyce Teague (Jimmy) both of Lexington; also surviving are her grandchildren, Nicole Lambert, Tyler Redd (Hannah), Michelle Smith, great grandchildren, Gunner Redd, Lainey Redd, and Aubree Beck.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society-Davidson County, 1120 Piedmont Dr., Lexington, NC 27295 or to the Davidson County Animal Shelter, 490 Glendale Rd., #5828, Lexington, NC 27292.
