Debra Frizzell Leonard, age 70, of Davidson County, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29th, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House.
Born December 26th, 1954, in Davidson County, Debra was the daughter of the late Devarux Albert Frizzell and Willa Belle Watkins. A warm, spirited soul, Debra was known for her infectious love of music—especially karaoke. Whether singing out her favorite songs with her lifelong friend Doris or harmonizing with her cherished granddaughter Peyton, her voice filled rooms and hearts with joy.
Debra found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—watching classic game shows from the '70s and '80s on The Buzzr, spending time with her family, and cherishing on her grandchildren, Peyton and Thomas, who were the lights of her life. She was also a member of God’s Shining Light Independence Baptist Church. Her warmth and humor left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Ervin Leonard Jr., and her parents.
Left to honor her memory are her loving son, Jason Leonard (Ashley); her treasured grandchildren, Peyton and Thomas Leonard; her sisters, Ladonna Tuttle and Dennise Henderson; her brother, Randall Bailey; and her special cousin, known to her as a sister, Linda Davis.
A funeral service to honor Debra’s life will be held on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel, with a visitation beginning an hour prior at 10:00 a.m. A committal will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292, in gratitude for their compassionate care.
