Delbert “Del” Welch, age 67 of Lake Leonard Road, Lexington passed away Sunday morning at Lexington Medical Center.
There will be at private inurnment service at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington from 5:00 until 6:30 pm on Wednesday (December 31, 2014)
Del was born in Forsyth County, March 4, 1947 to Clyde O’Daniels and Cornelia Thompson Welch. He was a graduate of Asheboro High School; a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church; a veteran of the US Navy during Vietnam. He worked for the State of North Carolina as Paramedic Coordinator; former Davidson County EMS Director and after retirement was Health Inspector for Proctor and Gamble.
Del is survived by his sons, Chad A. Welch of Miami, FL and Kevin Welch of Lexington; sisters, Zenda Rushing of Cheraw, SC and LaDean Giles of Marietta, GA; step-sister, Judy White of Raleigh, NC; step-brothers, Denny White of Spencer and David White of Thomasville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 823 Ridge Road, Lexington, 27295 or to Davidson County Rescue Squad, 115 W. Ninth Avenue, Lexington, NC 27292
