Delbert Wayne Bohannon

Delbert Bohannon, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 21, 2020 in Lexington.

A private celebration of life will be held at 11am Tuesday, November 24 and will be livestreamed at https://www.facebook.com/davidson.funeralhome/ .

A resident of Davidson County, he was the son of the late Wayne Aldene Bohannon and Mary Poteat Ferguson.  He was a veteran of the US Army, proudly serving his country in the Vietnam War.  He loved shopping, especially at the local grocery stores and always enjoyed cooking at home for his family and friends.  He liked to fish, and travel, and loved sharing stories about the exotic places he was able to visit.  But, he was just as content fishing in a countryside lake.  He and his cooking will be missed by us all.

Surviving are his wife, Janie Dianne Walsh Bohannon of the home; children, Barry Bohannon of Greensboro and Rusty Bohannon (Sabrina) of Lithia, FL; step-daughter, Jerusha Myrick (Tony) of Weaverville; grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, Andrew, Blake, Alyssa, Tene, Mitch, and Baby  Bohannon expected on February 7; great grandchild, Sam; siblings, Wesley Poteat (Jeanette), Elizabeth Nye, Vickie Draine, Robert Ferguson (Linda), Bettye F. White (Bernie); and many nieces and nephews.
