Delia Shelton Arthur Lively

Delia Shelton Arthur Lively, 87, of Lexington, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Hospice of Davidson County.

A funeral service will be held 10 AM Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with Father AJ officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lively was born September 7, 1935, in Huntington, West Virginia, to Clarence Norval Arthur and Eloise Webb Arthur. Delia graduated from Beckley College with a degree in Business. After graduating, she married her high school sweetheart Jimmy Lively. In 1957, they moved to Pinellas Park, Florida, where she worked demonstrating microwave cooking and then later at Publix Supermarket in the floral department. After retiring, they moved to Lexington, NC, in 2002, where she attended Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. She enjoyed sitting on the back porch watching the wildlife with her little dog. In addition to her parents and brother, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melody Jane.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Jimmy William Lively of the home; one son, Michael Lively (Lisa); one daughter, Kathy Lively-Crafford (Don) of Lexington; four grandchildren, Joshua Snyder of Florida, Amanda Robeson (Sam) of Texas, Travis Witherington (Amelia) of Lexington, and Melody Brown (Joshua) of South Korea; one step-grandson, Bradley Crafford (Stephanie); and one step-great-granddaughter, Hadley.

Delia will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
