Della Eggleston

Della Thomason Eggleston, 72, of Becky Hill Road, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Hinkle Hospice House. She was born in Davidson County on February 9, 1949 to the late Foy and Mary Thomason. Della was a selfless person who always helped those in need. She enjoyed to fish, when she was able, and listening to Gospel music. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Eggleston, Jr; a daughter, Audrey Hill; a sister, Becky Crisp; and brothers, Clifford, Roy, Timmy, and Larry Thomason.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Leonard Road Baptist Church where she was a member, by the Rev. Tommy Hepler. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

There will not be a formal visitation.

Della is survived by her son, Tommy Ray Eggleston and wife Paula of Knoxville, Tn.; her daughter, Kathy Hanes of Lexington; three sisters, Janie Broadway of Lexington, Linda Whitfield, and Kay Stone, both of Winston Salem; brothers, Gary, Gurney, and Lester Thomason, all of Lexington; seven grandchildren, Victor Nunes (Miranda), Tasha Hill, Mitchell Garmer, Brandon Hill, Ryan Hubbuck, Autumn Owens, and Kaitlynne Eggleston; and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leonard Road Baptist Church, 1815 Leonard Road, Lexington, NC 27295 and/or Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292.
