Delores Grimmett

Delores Ann Lowman Grimmett, 62, of Churchland, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Rowan Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel by Preacher Clyde Akers. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the home of her brother-in-law, 3679 S. NC Highway 150. Mrs. Grimmett was born May 21, 1947, in Summit County, Ohio, to Ernest Rosevelt Lowman and Ruth Garnett Saunders Lowman. She was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Lowman. Surviving are her husband, Billy Darrell Grimmett, of the home; son Jeffery Long and wife Grace, of Churchland; daughter Angela Springer of Churchland; three grandchildren, Devan Paul of Lexington, Destany Long and Alex Springer, both of Churchland; and a sister, Brenda Welborn of Thomasville.
