Delores "Kaye" Byrd

Delores “Kaye” Byrd, 74, a resident of Lexington, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022. She was born in Clay County, West Virginia to the late Clayton and Eva Bird O’Dell. Kaye worked in the furniture industry for many years. On May 12, 1962 she married the love of her life, Thomas Dee Byrd. Kaye loved her family immensely and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed cooking, camping, and going to the beach. She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Lexington.

A graveside service will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 at 2:00PM with Donnie Lunsford officiating in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.

Kaye is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Thomas Byrd, of the home; sons, Timothy Byrd (Teresa) of Holly Ridge, NC, Marcus Byrd of Wyoming, and Ricky Byrd (Jill) of Lexington; grandchildren, Star Lord (Mark), Misty Mixon (Travis), April Byrd, Brittny Byrd, Candace Combs (Zachary), and Alexis Wilson; great-grandchildren, Jacob Blackmer and Elizabeth Lord; and fur-baby, Bailey.
