Delores Gaynell Tripp

Delores Gaynell Tripp, 82, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 5, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Wayne Sechrest officiating.  The family will visit with family and friends following the graveside service at the cemetery. Gaynell was born on January 7, 1936 in Tarboro, North Carolina to John Ray Tripp and Mary Mae Stokes Oneal Tripp.  She was retired from Frank IX and was a member of Meadowview Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Carlton Ray Tripp; and sister, Mary Elizabeth Stallings. Surviving is her daughter, Robin Smith and husband, Rev. Joel Smith of Lexington; brothers, John Melton Tripp and Spencer Bass of Lexington; two grandchildren, Benjamin Aaron Smith and Faith JoHanna Smith and one great-grandchild, Gavin O’Mer Smith. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Hospice of Davidson County for the special care they provided to Gaynell.
