Dennis Jeffrey Cooper, Sr., born May 14th, 1951, to William Nelson Cooper and Lois Cooper in Memphis, TN, died December 17, 2025. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Janet Brandenburg Cooper.
A celebration of life will be announced.
Surviving are his sons, Dennis Jeffrey Cooper, Jr., and Cory Brandon Cooper, and their spouses Jennifer Cooper and Amanda Cooper, his grandchildren, Izzy Raghaven, Wyatt Emma Cooper, Camryn Riley Cooper, and George Ramsey Cooper. He also leaves behind his sister, Amy Replogle, and brother, Leslie Cooper and wife, Pam. He was raised in Memphis, TN, served in the U.S. Army from 1972-74. He graduated from Memphis State University in 1975, lived in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for 6 years and moved to Lexington, NC in 1988. He put down roots here and became a naturalized North Carolinian by always rooting for UNC and despising Duke basketball. He founded Signworks of NC, Inc. with his wife and children and ran it to various degrees of success since 1991. He was instrumental in building the clubhouse at Sapona Country Club. He loved to tour on his motorcycle and helped his friends and family whenever asked or saw a need. He was devoted to his wife, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to National Kidney Foundation or American Diabetes Foundation.
