Dennis Clyde Johnson

Dennis Clyde Johnson, 73, of Robert Hargrave Road, went home to be with the Lord on September 15, 2013, at his home following three years of declining health and critical health since April 2013. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Davidson Funeral Home with the Revs. David Davis and Ray Harris. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at the funeral home and other times at the home. Mr. Johnson was born September 29, 1939, in Hancock County, TN., to Walter Johnson and Tessie Collins Johnson. He had been a hard worker all his life until his illness took over and he retired from the Department of Transportation where he had been a truck driver. Mr. Johnson was well loved and had many friends. He attended Lighthouse Baptist Church as long as his health allowed. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Johnson; and brothers, Glen Johnson and Carl Johnson. Surviving are his loving wife, Barbara Sue Young Johnson of the home; grandchildren, Chad Vance, Chasity Vance, and Ashley Reeves; brothers and sisters, Ronald Johnson (Sandra), Loal Johnson (Brenda), all of Lexington, Lucille Boone and (Daniel) of Tyro, Otis Johnson (Viola), Donald Johnson (Audrey), Faye Mallory (Tim) and Doris Vanover (Lee), all of Tennessee, and Jerrell Johnson (Kaye) of Florida; sister-in-law, Gerry Rogers (Barry) of Lexington; brother-in-law, Ronald Young (Lois) of Kodak, Tn.; and many nieces and nephews.
