Dennis Kent Leonard

Dennis Kent Leonard, 90, of Davidson County, passed away Tuesday evening, November 18, 2025, at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Hedrick’s Grove Church Cemetery, with Foster Carney officiating.

Dennis was born on October 8, 1935, in Davidson County, to the late Willie Hoyd and Maggie Yarborough Leonard. He retired from Proctor and Schwartz as a machinist. He loved fishing, hunting, woodworking, finding great yard sales and flea markets, but he especially loved spending time with his family.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Don Leonard, Coney Leonard, and Nolan Leonard.

Left to carry on his legacy are his loving wife, Noretta, of the home; his children, Greg Leonard and Amy Cooper, both of Lexington; his brother, Ed (Virginia) Leonard of Thomasville; sisters, Sylia Walser of Lexington and Delores Martin of Alabama; 3 grandchildren, Kassie (Thomas) Ramsey, Nikki (Shane) Leonard, Adam Cooper; 3 great grandchildren, Haylee, Johnny, and Colton, and his fur baby, Peepers.
