Dennis Roberts

Dennis Elwood Roberts, 65, of Homestead Drive, passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Health, Palliative Care in Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel by Pastor John Bright. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of a daughter, Jennifer Willis, 185 Westmill Drive, Lexington. Dennis was born in Richmond, Va., on April 14, 1946, to Maynard Harris Roberts and Margaret Blanche Mullins Roberts. He was a retired employee of the City of Concord and a member of First United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of George Wythe High School and the University of Virginia with a bacehlor's degree in electrical engineering. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sharon Taylor Roberts; three daughters, Jennifer Willis and husband George, Heather Everhart and husband Chris and Melissa Jackson and husband Rob, all of Lexington; five grandchildren, Audrey Willis, Dylan Everhart, Connor Everhart, Robbie Jackson and Delanee Jackson; one brother, Stuart Randolph Roberts and wife Joyce of Covington, Va.; sister-in-law, Robyn Arrington and husband Runnie of New Kent, Va.; brother-in-law, Mark Taylor and wife Patty of MacArthur, W.Va.; two nieces, Megan Lawson and husband Daniel and Abigail Wilson and husband Andy; and his loving dog, Zoe.
