Denny Myers

Delineva Ruth (Denny) Motsinger Myers, 93, formerly of Maegeo Drive died Monday May 4, 2015 at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church by the Revs. Jamie Armstrong and Doug Rowe. A private Inurnment service will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Church an hour before the service. Mrs. Myers was born in Davidson County on November 5, 1921 to John Ernest and Kila May Hayworth Motsinger. She was a homemaker and former member of the Lexington Woman’s Club and the Lexington Garden Club. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church serving on the administrative board, Altar Guild, Meals on Wheels, a life member of the Woman’s Society, chairman of her circle and active in the Spruill Sunday School Class. She was an avid bridge player and was active in many arts and crafts activities. She loved the beach and collecting shells. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Aubrey Brooks (Buddy) Myers on January 17, 2001. Survivors include her three sons, James Brooks (Jim) Myers and daughter-in-law, Carol P. Myers of Lexington, David Barry Myers and wife, Elaine of Hickory, John Douglas Myers of Phoenix, AZ; Grandchildren, Jennifer Myers Christy and husband, Sheldon of Lincolnton, Jonathan Myers and wife, Alyssa of Hickory, Justin Myers and wife, Jennifer of Cornelius, Brandon Myers and wife, Kristen of Cary, Elizabeth Myers and husband, Jerome Bolkcom of Ormond Beach, FL and Benjamin Myers of Hickory; eight great grandchildren, Sam, Ali, Abby, Jake, Cameron, Susan, Mark, Steven; a sister-in-law, Rose Dietz of Hickory and a special friend/caregiver, Melanie Seaman. In Lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292 or First United Methodist Church, 310 S. Main Street, Lexington, NC 27292 Davidson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
