Derenda Smith

Derenda Thomason Everhart Smith, 66, of North Leonard Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at Hinkle Hospice House after an illness of nine years. A funeral will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Center United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dr. Stephen Pillsbury. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. just prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of Tracey and Tiffany Everhart, Holly Grove Road. Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 16, 1946, in Davidson County to Raymond Ray Thomason and Orabelle Vanhoy Thomason. She was former secretary for Daly Seven Co. and the Davidson County Sheriff's Office and a former member of the Lexington Moose Lodge. Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Wayne Irvin Everhart. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Leon Smith of Welcome; a son, Tracey Wayne Everhart and wife Tiffany; and a granddaughter, Tori Everhart.
