Dermont McCrary, 76, of Stratford Road, passed away Friday, December 09, 2016, at his home after declining health. A funeral will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, December 10, at Davidson Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Luck officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Mr. McCrary was born February 3, 1940, to Norman McCrary Sr. and Jennie Lanning McCrary. He was a former employee of Holiday Inn and was a member of Second United Church of Christ. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Tommy McCrary on July 19, 2013; brothers, Norman McCrary Jr., Paul W. McCrary, and Bruce McCrary; and sisters, Lucille Dorsett, Geneva Hines, Jennie Mowery, Veigh Sprinkle, Ethel Everhart, Norine Garwood and Alda Arace. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Barbara Everhart McCrary; daughter, Lisa McCrary Embler and husband Dale of Lexington; grandsons, Jeff McCrary and Derek McCrary of Linwood; great-grandchildren, Madyson McCrary, Jake McCrary, Lindsay McCrary, and Landon McCrary of Linwood; daughter-in-law, Cynthia McCrary of Pfafftown; and step-grandchildren, Jeremy (Rosa), Cliff and Archer Adams all of Pfafftown; and also many loving nieces and nephews.
