Devara Essick Everhart, 86, of Michael Dr., Lexington died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Hinkle Hospice House after a brief illness.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, February 22, 2013 at Bethesda United Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of the sister, Alma Craver on Michael Dr., Lexington.
Mrs. Everhart was born July 4, 1926 in Davidson County to Fred Lee Essick and Zella Elizabeth Hinkle Essick. She was a retired employee of Dacotah Cotton Mill and a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Carlton Everhart, three brothers, Holland Essick and wife, Norene, Ellis Essick, Colin A. Essick and wife, Hazel, a sister, Ruth Sink and husband, A.N. and brother-in-laws, Frank Craver, Larry Griffie, and J.C. Medlin.
Surviving are two brothers, Casper Essick and wife, Rebecca of Welcome, Joe Essick and wife, Theola of Lexington; three sisters, Willie Medlin of Welcome, Alma Craver of Lexington, and Peggy Griffie of Charlotte, and many nieces and nephews.
