Dicksie Joan Rawlings

Dicksie Joan Dillon Rawlings, age 80 of Hemlock Drive, Lexington passed away Tuesday night (May 4, 2010) at Hinkle Hospice House. Memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday (May 8, 2010) at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Lee Zehmer officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Dicksie was born in Denver County, CO, February 22, 1930 to Richard Dillon and Winifred Mayhoffer Dillon. She was a graduate of the University of Colorado, and a retired first grade teacher. She enjoyed music and especially playing the piano. After retirement she enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents. Dicksie was survived by her husband of 56 years, John Rawlings of the home; one daughter, Carol Anne Fortune and husband Travis of Lexington; two sons, Clayton Rawlings and wife Deannaleimomi of Houston, TX and James Rawlings and wife Cheryl of Madison, WI; nine grandchildren, Jamie Rawlings, Logan Rawlings, Sarah Rawlings, Rachel Rawlings, Brandon Craven, Melanie Rawlings, Blake Rawlings, Matthew Fortune and Richard Fortune.
