Dixie Hinkle Kearns

Dixie Hinkle Kearns, age 83, of Lexington, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held at Psalm 91 Church at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 6, 2016 with Pastor Max Shoaf officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service. Mrs. Kearns was born on May 22, 1933 in Davidson County to Harvey Lee Hinkle Sr. and Ruby Proctor Hinkle. She was retired from Parkdale Mills and was a member of Psalm 91. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bryce Hunt Kearns who died December 24, 2013; daughter, Rebecca Ann Williams; and two brothers, Harvey Lee Hinkle Jr., and Johnny Herman Hinkle. Surviving are her son, Lewis Steven Johnson of Lexington, NC; her daughter, Deborah Lea Bates (Gary) of Welcome, NC; two sisters, Mary Jane Ricker (Paul) of Clemmons, NC, and Barbara Ann Trivette (Bobby) of Welcome, NC; four grandchildren, Jennifer Bates, Shawn Johnson, Jacob Smith, and David Smith; and seven great grandchildren.
