Dolan Smith

Dolan Alexander Smith, age 92, of Lexington passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Hinkle Hospice House.   A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Becks Lutheran Church with Vicar J. Robert Crawford IV and the Rev. David Huddle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service.   Mr. Smith was born on October 7, 1924 in Davidson County to Henry Robert Smith and Annie Mae Beck Smith. He was retired from United Furniture Corp. and was a lifelong member of Becks Lutheran Church. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents.   Surviving are his loving wife, Mildred Ruth Crenshaw Smith of the home; a son, Lloyd Smith and wife Margaret of Richmond, VA; 2 grandchildren, Alex Smith and wife Jessica Arnest, and Robert Smith; and 2 great grandchildren, Carter Smith and Mary Alice Smith.   Memorials may be directed to Becks Lutheran Church at 441 Becks Church Road Lexington, NC 27292.
