Dolan Foy Swing, 88, of Beck's Church Road, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beck's Reformed Church, where he was a member, by the Rev. Gerald M. Sanders. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post 3074.
Mr. Swing was born July 3, 1918, in Davidson County to Crawford Lee Swing and Temple Elizabeth Younts Swing. He was the owner and operator of Swing Landscaping. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Kathryn Swing, who died June 24, 2003; two brothers, Dallas Swing and Billy Lee Swing; and four sisters, Gertrude Swing, Inez Swing, Frances Parks and Rachel Penninger.
Surviving are a son, Dolan Scott Swing of the home; a grandson, Jacob Scott Swing of Lexington; three sisters, Marie Fallenstein, Maxine Leonard and Mary Grace Chapman and her husband, Junior, all of Lexington; and a sister-in-law, Pauline Seaford of Elkin.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home.
