Don Franklin Curry, 80, of West U.S. Highway 64, died Monday, June 16, 2014, at Forsyth Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Meadowview RPCA, where he was a member, with the Revs. Chris Bitterman and Francis Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18,2014, and other times at the home.
Mr. Curry was born November 10, 1933, in Davidson County, to Homer Franklin Curry and Annie Phillips Curry. He proudly served four years in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from Winn Dixie on East Center Street after serving the community 41 years as manager of that store. He was a former Deacon at his church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Tom Curry and Jesse Roy Curry; and sisters, Rachel Hobbs and Mildred Sowers.
Surviving are his loving wife of 58 years, Colleen Walser Curry, of the home; daughters, Kathy Rice and husband Steve and Karen Trogdon and husband Steve, all of Lexington; grandchildren, Chad Trogdon and wife Melissa and Matthew Trogdon and wife Sarah, all of Lexington; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Homer Mock Curry and wife Linda of Lexington; and sisters, Betty Crowell, Evelyn Gilliland, Lena Church and husband Walter, and Geraldine Scott and husband Benny, all of Lexington.
