Don “PawPaw” Ralph Daughety, 75, of Rolling Park Drive, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Duke University Hospital.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2016, at Open Door Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Dr. Gary Gibson officiating. The family invites friends for a meal at the church following the service.
Mr. Daughety was born September 25, 1940, in Kermit, Texas, to Jewel Donald Daughety and Lorena Bess Daughety. He served in the U.S. Airforce and retired as general foreman of the Norfolk-Southern Railroad Linwood yard.
Surviving are his loving wife, Susan Gammon Daughety of the home; daughters, Tracy Daughety and Tammy Kennedy and husband Randy, both of Lexington; nine grandchildren, Breigh Daughety, Keaton Daughety, Cordale Daughety, Leland Daughety, Matthew Kennedy, Cameron Kennedy, Ashleigh Kennedy, Shaylin Kennedy, and Jacob Kennedy; brothers, Michael Daughety and wife Sarah of Irving, Texas and Ted Daughety and wife Laura Kelly of Topeka, KS.; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Open Door Baptist Church, 953 Clyde Fitzgeral Road, Linwood, NC 27299.
