Don Hulin Koontz

Don Hulin Koontz, age 88 of Brookdale, formerly of Queens Drive, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning December 5, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice House.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Don was born in Davidson County October 15, 1930 to Desmond Odell Koontz and Mattie Workman Koontz. He was a retired employee of AT & T and a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Melba White Koontz; sisters, Edna Greene and Patsy Medlin and a brother, Odell Koontz.

Surviving are his daughters; Rhonda Tysinger (Randy) and Janet Horne (Tommy) all of Lexington; sons, Garry Koontz (Janice) of Punta Gorda, FL and Stuart Koontz of Petersburg, VA; grandchildren, Raymond Koontz, Courtney Hines (Chris), Chelsea Stone (Jared), Caitlin Tysinger, Fiance’ Robert Motsinger and Sarah Horne and companion Zac Madsen; great-grandchildren, Madison and Kennedy Hines and Emma Littleton; and a sister, Nancy Lewis of Asheville, NC
