Donald Edward Akers

Donald Edward Akers, 57, of Walnut Grove Road, died Monday, November 28, 2011, at the Brian Center of Lexington, following a one year illness. A graveside service will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at Forest Hill Memorial Park, with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Akers was born August 5, 1954, in Grayson County, Va., to Frank McKinley Akers and Evangeline Kirby Akers. He was a former employee at Parkdale Mills. His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are brothers, Eddie Akers and wife, Anne, Gary Akers, Dallas Akers, and Jerry Akers, all of Lexington, and Terry Akers and wife, Jennifer,; sister, Brenda Ballew and husband, Petey, of Southmont; and several nieces and nephews.
