Donald Paige Bates

Donald Paige Bates, Sr., 86, of Lexington passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021 at his home.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 2 ^nd at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Donald was born on May 7, 1934 in Davidson County to Riley Bates and Bessie Everhart Bates.  He retired from Everhart Used Cars and was of the Baptist faith.  Donald served in the US Army and was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Darell Everhart and Brandon Rush: one great-grandchild, Brielle Kennedy; brothers Charlie, Baxter, Pete, Tommy and Brantley and sisters, Martha and Frances.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Peggy Irene Temple Bates, of the home; son, Donald Bates, Jr. of Lexington; daughters, Sandra Rush (David) of Lexington and Donna Rhodes (Steve) of Yadkinville; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and sister, Betty Tussey.
