Donald Carl Brooks

Donald Carl Brooks "Pops," 76, of Welcome, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Born on May 30, 1948, in Winston-Salem, NC, Donald was the son of the late Thomas Otto Brooks and Juanita Foy Clodfelter Brooks. A hard-working and dedicated man, Donald retired from BE Aerospace in Winston-Salem.  He was an avid race fan and enjoyed working on cars and restoring hotrods. Fishing the piers at Oak Island and Surf City was an activity that also brought him enjoyment.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas Richard Brooks of Winston-Salem and Kenneth Eugene Brooks of Lexington, NC; Connie Long and Bonnie Gant Brooks.

He is survived by a loving family that includes his daughter, Lisa Marie Brooks of Lexington, NC; sons, Jason Taylor Brooks (Linzi) of Jacksonville, NC, Jonathan Carl Brooks (Tonya) of Lexington, NC, and Joseph Paul Brooks (Heather) of Rural Hall, NC; and his brother, Larry Wayne Brooks of Lexington, NC. Donald was a proud and devoted grandfather to his grandchildren: Shayna Hines, Jessica Hines, Chris Brooks, Zoe Brooks, Keegan Brooks, Dexter Brooks, Katlyn Barber, Kambri Brooks, Jasper Brooks, and Kieran Brooks, as well as his four cherished great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held in his honor on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, NC.
