Mr. Donald Bryant Bulla, 95, of W. Fifth Avenue, died Saturday, April 6 at his home.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm Wednesday, April 10 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, by the Rev. Vern Peterson. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
Mr. Bulla was born March 19, 1929 in Davidson County to Thomas Bulla and Gertrude Young Bulla Gordon. He retired from Wennonah Cotton Mills and went on to build homes in the Lexington area. He was a talented craftsman whose works were featured in several national publications including the covers of Southern Living and Country Living magazines. He also owned Old 64 Gift House and was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church. His wife, Ruby Christine Wampler Bulla, his brother, Troy Lee Bulla, and his grandson, Russ Craver, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughters, Lynn Beck of Lexington, and Amy Halverson (C.B. Bryant) of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Lydia Craver of Huntersville, Sam Halverson (Christy), of Charlotte, and Emily Elliott of Davidson; and his great-grandson, Cole Elliott.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington NC 27292.
