Donald William Carothers Jr., 70, of Lexington, passed away January 4, 2023, at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Mr. Carothers was born October 2, 1952, in Pittsbury PA, to Donald William Carothers Sr., and Judy Hazlett Carothers. Donald attended and graduated from Bethel High School in Hampton, VA; after graduating he continue his education in going to several colleges including Foothill Community College, San Jose City College, De Anza College, Santa Rosa Junior College and College of San Mateo. Was a veteran of the US Air Force having served in Vietnam from 1973 – 1977. Was of the Catholic faith. Donald was a machinist tool and die and Journeyman Machinist having worked with several companies including, Sonoma Percision & Manufacturing Co. in Santa Rosa, Ca; Schlage Lock Company/Ingersoll Rand in San Francisco, CA; Magne-Tron Instruments in Menlo Park, Ca and Lockheed Missles & Space Company in Sunnyvale, CA where he was general Journeyman Machinist with solid accomplishments such as contributing on special projects such as the Star Wars program. Before moving to North Carolina, he and his wife lived in Rohnert Park, CA. Donald was passion with his faith, church, and family, who will be missed by all.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Mariann Shiell Carothers of the home.
