Donald George Curran "Don C"

Donald George Curran “Don C” age 75 of Winston-Salem, NC widower of Mrs. Lois J. Greenwood Curran passed away Friday, September 25, 2015. He was born June 25, 1940 in East Liverpool, Ohio to the late John Leslie Curran and Mildred Armstrong Wallace and was raised by his grandmother the late Oca Fern Torrence Armstrong. Don has lived most of his life in Rogers, Ohio before moving to Winston-Salem in 2003. He graduated from East Liverpool High School in 1958 and served in the US Army Reserves. He was a self-employed contractor before retiring in 1995. Don was a member of AmVets 760 in Welcome and VFW 1134 in Winston-Salem. Don was known for his laughter, contagious smile, and quick wit that will be cherished by his family and friends. He had a great love for family and enjoyed life. Surviving are his daughter, Cathy Rhodes of Winston-Salem, NC; son, Randy Curran of Winston-Salem, NC and son-in-law, David Rhodes of Winston-Salem, NC; brother, Dick Curran (Julie Curran) of Gilbert, AZ; sister-in-law, Shirley DeSarro Curran of Toccoa, GA; niece, Cassie Curran Minard (Jake Minarad) of Mesa, AZ; step-brothers, Gary and Lary Wallace of FL and AZ; step-sister, Rita Ann Detwiler of FL and a number of nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Edward Curran of Toccoa, GA. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, Winston-Salem, NC. A visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the Service. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM at Crest Haven Cemetery, Rogers, Ohio on Saturday, October 10, 2015.
