Donald Lewis “Don” Berrier, 83 of Westdale Ave., Lexington, passed away Tuesday September 29, 2014 at Hinkle Hospice House with his family by his side after an extended illness.
A funeral service will be Thursday October 2, 2014 at 11:00 AM Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother David Berrier officiating. Burial will follow in the Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and at other times at the home on Westdale Ave.
Don was born September 5, 1931 in Davidson County to Latta Hurdle Berrier and Bannie Elizabeth Everhart Berrier. He was retired from Proctor Schwartz and served in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter Ashley Nicole Parks on October 6, 2013; brothers, Ray Berrier, Clarence Berrier, Bryce Berrier, Walter Berrier; and sisters, Jennie Berrier and Margie Berrier.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Clatie Jordan Berrier of the home; daughter Carolyn Walser and husband Larry; granddaughter Brittany Parks Lanier and husband Devin; step-grandson, Tim Walser and wife, Kim, of Lexington; sisters, Deanna Michael-Beck and husband Don of Lexington, Julia Clodfelter and husband Boyd of Lexington; brother Sam Berrier and wife Janice of Lexington; sisters in law, Mary Berrier of Lexington Bobbie Berrier of Mallard Ridge and Joann Jordan of Lexington; and son in law and father of his grandchildren, Dale Ray Parks and Alex.
Don was known as “Uncle” Don to all of his nieces and nephews and Pawpaw to his grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. We will miss him dearly and was so happy to have him as a part of our lives.
