HEADING NAME: Donald “Don” Broadway Donald “Don” Eugene Broadway, of Welcome, died Tuesday June 25, 2013 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Center United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Dr. Stephen Pillsbury officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday June 28, 2013 at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel Mr. Broadway was born March 17, 1943 in Davidson County to Ruby Broadway Younts. He was retired from the United States Navy and Johnson Controls, and a member of the Fleet Reserve Assoc. Mr. Broadway was a Sunday School Teacher and a lay speaker at his church. He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant son Donald Broadway Jr. Surviving is his wife Mardie Swicegood Broadway of the home; three sons Alan Broadway (Tammy) of Thomasville, Dru Broadway (Christina) of Lexington, and Ross Broadway of Winston Salem; three sisters, Betty Sue Crowell (Jerry) of Maryland, Glenna Julian (Hugh) of Salisbury, and Diana Essick of Lexington; one grandchild, Mason Broadway; twelve nieces and nephews; thirteen great nieces and nephews and sister in law Kathy Kepley (Billy Joe Kepley) Memorials may be made to Center United Methodist Church Christian Fellowship Center Fund P.O.
