Donald Lee Hartley, Sr.

Donald Lee Hartley, Sr., 76, of Jubilee Road, Linwood died Monday, March 19, 2012 in WFBH-Lexington Medical Center after an extended illness. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Churchland Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Howell IV officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at the church, just prior to the service. Mr. Hartley was born October 16, 1935, in Davidson County to Roy Washington Hartley and Annie Cope Hartley. He was a retired Plant Manager for Mid-State Lubricants and was a member of Churchland Baptist Church. Donald was a veteran having served with the US Coast Guard and was an active member of Spencer Moose Lodge and Masonic Lodge #473. Surviving are two sons, Donald Hartley Jr. and wife, Holly, of Lexington, Kelly Hartley of Charlotte; a daughter, Melinda Benton and husband, Ron; two grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Hartley and wife, Leona, and Rudolph Hartley and wife, Brenda, both of Churchland; and a sister, Sue Hartley Williams of Linwood.
