Donald Wesley (Rick) Hedrick

Donald Wesley(Rick) Hedrick, age 61, of Craver Road, passed away early Saturday 2/1/2014 at his residence after two years of declining health. A memorial service will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Karen Roberts. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery with full military honors. The family will greet friends following the service. Rick was born in Forsyth County on January 15, 1953 to Donald Wesley Hedrick Sr. and Sarah Pardington Hedrick. He was employed with the Davidson County Transportation Department, and was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He was preceded in death by his father in 2001 and a son Wesley Shane Hedrick in 1998. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Emily Craver Hedrick of the home; daughter, Jessica Hedrick and fiancée Colt of Stokesdale; his mother of Lexington; A grandson Lane Rumley; brother, William Edward Hedrick and wife Christy of Lexington and sisters, Patricia Kathryn Hiott and husband Galen of Lexington and Susan Elizabeth Morgan and husband Tony of Silver Valley. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you donate to Horsepower TLC, 8001 Leabourne Road, Colfax, NC 27235. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
